Finally next Thursday, CAAMfest opens. CAAMfest is the new name for the old San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and the opening night film is Linsanity! Other great films to catch are the Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mira Nair, a romantic comedy called Sunset starring Sung Kang, and a 60th anniversary screening of Astro Boy! There’s also food-related panels, a Directions in Sound concert featuring Dengue Fever at the Rickshaw Stop, and a discussion on the highly polarizing social and political issues surround the Korean War.
