For our annual show of No Thanks to colonization and imperialism, we take you back to 518 Valencia Eric Quezada Center for Culture and Politics on Day of Indigenous Resistance. While some people call it Columbus Day, the Center for Political Education hosted their annual event, My Heroes Have Always Killed Colonizers. Tonight we think about whose country this is, we’ll hear from poets and musicians representing cultures from across the globe.

Plus, we take you to the streets of Oakland after the grand jury ruling in Ferguson with a powerful segment as our community heals and grows and we remind ourselves as interviewee Navina Khanna says, “We only win if we’re all in this together.”

Walmart vs. the World: Putting one of the Worst Climate Criminals on Trial
Walmart’s war on workers is a war on the planet and the people who depend on it. On Black Friday people condemn Walmart as one of the planet’s worst climate criminals, destroying land and life from Richmond to Bangladesh. The community will stand side-by-side with Walmart workers in Richmond Hilltop Mall organizing for $15/hr, full-time work, and the respect they deserve on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

15th Annual Shellmound Protest/Emeryville
In 1999, the City of Emerryville built the Mall that now sits on the corner of Shellmound St and Ohlone Way. This was once a Ohlone village site and it is one of the largest Shellmounds in the Bay Area. Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, the biggest shopping day of the year, the community has organized an educational protest to remind the Bay Area about our Ohlone sacred sites and to educate the public on why and how the desecration of sacred sites hurts Ohlone communities and everyone living here in the Bay Area. Join them on Friday from noon to 3 p.m.
