At 2 p.m. this Sunday, San Francisco’s International Hotel will honor the 100th birthday of “one of the fathers of the West Coast labor movement,” Larry Itliong. Along with Philip Vera Cruz, Itliong organized the successful Delano grape strike in the 60s when workers walked off of farms of table-grape growers in demand of minimum wage. Sunday’s tribute will include a preview of Marissa Arroy’s upcoming film, The Delano Manongs, and conversation with Sid Valledor, special assistant to Larry Itliong and author of Americans with a Philippine Heritage: The Original Writings of Philip Vera Cruz. https://www.facebook.com/events/169649779881018/
